A sporran is a type of pouch worn in front of the kilt – a traditional item of clothing worn in the Highlands of Scotland. When the kilt was established as the national ceremonial costume, the sporran became increasingly more ornate. The sporran flask is significantly flatter than more traditional flasks, so that it can slip into the sporran without causing discomfort.
