The name "Rocky Road" was chosen to reflect the challenging journey to the goldfields.  
• In America, it dates back to1929. That year, William Dreyer, an ice cream maker, combined chocolate ice cream with marshmallows and walnuts.  He named it Rocky Road to lift spirits during the Great Depression.  

While the exact origin remains open to debate, both stories add to the rich history of this beloved treat.
